Z dala od cywilizacji młodzi zamierzają urządzić szaloną imprezę. Gdy docierają na miejsce, odkrywają, że ich telefony komórkowe i samochodowy GPS straciły zasięg. W chacie zaś Dana i jej towarzysze znajdują napisany ponad sto lat temu pamiętnik nastoletniej Patience Buckner (Jodelle Ferland). Okazuje się, że dziewczyna była maltretowana przez pozostałych członków swojej rodziny. Odczytanie fragmentu tekstu sprawia, że w okolicy ożywają tajemnicze i złowrogie siły.
