Hotel TV channels over IP, without a satellite dish

A dish receives what is above it. That is the constraint hospitality TV has always worked around: a property in southern Europe can offer its German guests two German channels because that is what the local footprint carries, and nothing at all to its Polish or Brazilian ones. Delivery over IP removes the constraint entirely. The bouquet is assembled at our headend from 1535 channels and arrives over the property internet connection, so what a guest can watch is a commercial decision rather than a question of satellite geography.

We deliver to hotels and resorts worldwide: city properties, island resorts and lodges. We are used to the places where the internet is not the best. Seychelles, Mauritius, the Indian Ocean and West Africa are everyday destinations for us, not exceptions. Our transport is built for links with jitter, loss and limited capacity.

In Mauritius we currently carry the in-room line-up of roughly two thirds of the premium hotels on the island. Those properties took the same route: no dish, no headend rack, no engineer flown in, just one internet connection and a channel list agreed online.

Where a property has a thin or shared uplink, we tune the profile: lower CBR per channel, a bouquet limited to the channels guests actually watch, and SRT with ARQ so a lossy link still produces a clean picture. Where capacity is comfortable, we deliver the full bitrate and add adaptive HLS / DASH for the hotel app and cast-to-TV.

Our player appliance arrives configured. Connect it to the internet and to the in-house network and it works: it pulls the encrypted SRT feeds of the channels you ordered and puts out UDP multicast for the in-room TVs. No satellite dish, no LNBs, no CAMs, no headend rack, no integrator on site, nothing to license locally.

The same job can run on our software instead of the box, on a server you already have: SRT, HLS or RTMP in, UDP multicast out, with a web interface showing every channel and its bitrate. Either way, your existing in-room TVs keep working exactly as they do today. Samsung and LG hospitality sets take the multicast stream as they would from a local headend.

On top of that, or instead of it, the same channels can run in a white-label Smart TV app under your own brand: guest-facing home screen with the property name, bouquets by guest language, EPG, catch-up and restart, on Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV and Apple TV, plus phones and tablets for casting.

For groups with several properties, each site pulls the same package from the core site closest to it: Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Dallas, Helsinki, Singapore, Johannesburg. One contract, one channel list, one invoice, each property served from the nearest point.

The hospitality rate covers in-room viewing inside your property. Distribution rights, meaning redistribution of a channel to third parties, to other operators or beyond the property, are not included by default.

For most channels in the catalogue we can obtain distribution rights on request. Tell us which channels and which territory you need them for and we quote them per channel, on top of the hospitality rate.

Every hotel contract states, per channel, what the rights holder allows: number of properties, territory, whether guest-room recording and replay are permitted. Nothing is left implicit, so your legal team has one document to check.
