Für Old Shatterhand, der Paloma zu ihrem Onkel nach Sacramento bringen will, ist Tom ein wichtiger Zeuge. Zusammen mit seinem Freund, dem Apachen-Häuptling Winnetou, will er herausfinden, wer hinter den Überfällen steckt.
